CMB 3-point functions generated by non-linearities at recombination

چکیده
We study the 3-point functions generated at recombination in the squeezed triangle limit, when one mode has a wavelength much larger than the other two and is outside the horizon. The presence of the long wavelength mode cannot change the physics inside the horizon but modifies how a late time observer sees the anisotropies. The effect of the long wavelength mode can be divided into a redefinition of time and spatial scales, a Shapiro time delay and gravitational lensing. The separation is gauge dependent but helps develop intuition. We show that the resulting 3-point function corresponds to an fNL < 1 and that its shape is different from that created by the fNL (or local) model.

Non-Gaussianity of Large-Scale Cosmic Microwave Background Anisotropies beyond Perturbation Theory
We compute the fully non-linear Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) anisotropies on scales larger than the horizon at last-scattering in terms of only the curvature perturbation, providing a generalization of the linear Sachs-Wolfe effect at any order in perturbation theory. We show how to compute the n-point connected correlation functions of the large-scale CMB anisotropies for generic primordi...
متن کاملAn Analysis of Non-Linearities in Neural ICA Algorithms
The non-linearities in the objective functions play an important role in the convergence and stability of various neural ICA algorithms. In case of maximization of nongaussianity, they influence the negentropy and in Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MLE), they are related to the assumed distributions of sources. We present in this paper an experimental investigation of the performance of such non...
متن کاملCMB Anisotropies at Second-Order II: Analytical Approach
We provide an analytical approach to the second–order Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) anisotropies generated by the non–linear dynamics taking place at last scattering. We study the acoustic oscillations of the photon–baryon fluid in the tight coupling limit and we extend at second– order the Meszaros effect. We allow for a generic set of initial conditions due to primordial nonGaussianity an...
متن کاملCMB anisotropies at second order III: bispectrum from products of the first-order perturbations
We calculate the bispectrum of the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) temperature anisotropies induced by the second-order fluctuations in the Boltzmann equation. In this paper, which is one of a series of papers on the numerical calculation of the bispectrum from the second-order fluctuations, we consider the terms that are products of the first-order perturbations, and leave intrinsically seco...
متن کاملNon linear recombination processes : application to quantitative implantation characterization
Previous photoreflectance studies on intrinsic silicon have exposed the strong non linearities versus excitation power. Implanted silicon samples however, exhibit these non linearities. We present a non linear model based on Auger recombination that can explain the observed signal for both intrinsic and implanted samples.
